Indiana State Police say a Crawfordsville father and his ten-year-old son were killed when the minivan they were in on Interstate 74 struck the back of a semi trailer in western Indiana.

State police identified the victims as 42-year-old Max Bruner II and his son, Bradley Bruner. Police say the minivan was traveling eastbound on I-74 near Waynestown, about 60 miles west of Indianapolis, about 3 p.m. Saturday when it struck a semi trailer loaded with steel that was slowing down.

Other family members in the vehicle were injured, including 9-year-old Sabrina Bruner, who is at Riley Hospital in critical condition.  Her 3-year-old brother Max Bruner III had minor injuries and was taken to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Crawfordsville.

The driver of the semi, 46-year-old  Ruben Carter Junior, from Goldsboro, NC was not injured.
