Convicted killer released from prison

A convicted killer and sex offender is back in Bloomington after serving half of his original murder sentence. The Indiana Department of Correction says Robert Evan Lee was released from prison this weekend.

In 1986, he killed and dismembered a woman in Bloomington and put her body parts in trash bags.

Because of credit for good behavior and for earning degrees in prison, Lee was let out after 25 years, well-short of his 60 year sentence. But the DOC will not say where he's now living in Bloomington. And that doesn't sit well with neighbors.

Irene Miksik of Bloomington, says, "I'm very concerned. I've got a granddaughter and a daughter. Yeah, I think he should have served more time," says Miksik. "I'm very upset about it. I don't feel safe."

Bloomington police outfitted Lee with a GPS monitor, before his release Saturday. They say he will be watched closely during his year-long parole.
