Contractors for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) plan to repair damage to the North River Road bridge over I-465 beginning Wednesday night.

Halverson Construction will repair three concrete bridge beams damaged last October when a truck hauling unsecured heavy machinery struck the bridge, which has a clearance of 16'8". The repairs will require nighttime lane restrictions on eastbound I-465 between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for the safety of workers and motorists.

Crews will restrict two right lanes of eastbound I-465, allowing entrance ramps from Keystone Avenue to merge before the North River Road overpass. The left two lanes of eastbound I-465 and all Keystone Avenue and Allisonville Road interchange ramps will remain open.

The overnight restriction will repeat each night for repairs expected to take approximately one week.
