ConAgra announces new jobs for Frankfort
New jobs are coming to Frankfort, Indiana.
ConAgra Foods broke ground today for a new warehouse near the city's industrial park.
The company, which says it will spend nearly $9 million to expand its popcorn production operations, plans to move its 150 workers from a distribution center in Lebanon to the new facility in Frankfort. ConAgra will hire 75 more by next year.
"This is a game changer, for our community. Today, the city of Frankfort and Clinton County makes a statement that we're here to play ball and that we're back on the map again. This is a story of partnership. It's a story of teamwork. It's a story of cooperation, and we welcome ConAgra Foods into our world class industrial park," said Mayor Chris McBarnes (R-Frankfort).

ConAgra announced Wednesday it would spend the money on renovating and equipping its current facility in Rensselaer. The Omaha, Nebraska-based company says it expects construction to start in August, with completion early next year.
ConAgra has about 1,100 workers in Indiana, including at other production facilities in Indianapolis and Brookston.
