Columbus police cruiser damaged when man strikes it with his head

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) - Police have accused an Edinburgh man of crashing his car, trying to run off and then banging his head on an officer's patrol car so hard it left a mark.

Police said Derek Jordan, 22, is facing a long list of charges including battery and resisting arrest. According to a report, Jordan drove his minivan onto a curb in Columbus and then tried to run away. Two witnesses held him until officers arrived.

When police got there, they say Jordan got defensive, even hitting his head repeatedly on the officer's patrol car. It left a dent.

Jordan got hospital treatment before being taken to the Bartholomew County Jail.
