Colts' tight end Dwayne Allen to have season-ending hip surgery
Coach Chuck Pagano says Colts tight end Dwayne Allen will require season-ending hip surgery.
Allen missed much of the pre-season with a foot injury.
He scored on a touchdown pass from Colts QB Andrew in the season opener against Oakland. Allen suffered the hip injury in that same game and did not play last week against Miami.
The Colts chose Allen in the third round of the NFL Draft in 2012. He played his college ball at Clemson University and was recognized as the Most Outstanding Tight End in 2011.
Coby Fleener will start in Allen's place with Dominique Jones and Cathedral HS grad Jack Doyle backing Fleener up.
