Colts sign former Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw

The Indianapolis Colts have signed former New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw.

Reports that Bradshaw, 27, was meeting with the Colts surfaced last week and team owner Jim Irsay confirmed the signing on Twitter Tuesday afternoon. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

"Anytime you can add a guy that's got Super Bowl rings and understands what it takes, has that mindset, put another pro in that locker room, another mentor...I mean, the guy's a beast. He's a warrior," said Colts head coach Chuck Pagano.

Bradshaw ran for over 1,000 yards twice in the last three seasons, including 1,015 yards and six touchdowns last year. A seventh-round pick out of Marshall in 2007, Bradshaw had played his entire six-year career with New York.

He could challenge Donald Brown, Vick Ballard and Delone Carter for the starting running back role with Indianapolis . on Bradshaw signing
