Colts present $10,000 NFL grant to Fairland school

Students at Triton Central Elementary School in Fairland got a special treat Tuesday.

Players from the Indianapolis Colts presented the school with a $10,000 NFL Play 60 grant as part of Colts Community Tuesday. The school was one of the winners in the NFL Play 60's Super School contest.

The money will support youth health and fitness activities at the school. Fifty students will also participate in an NFL PLAY 60 Keep Gym in School PE class where Colts players helped the students get 60 minutes of exercise as part of the PLAY 60 campaign.

The PLAY 60 campaign is part of a continued effort by the NFL and its 32 teams to confront the issue of childhood obesity. During the Thanksgiving games and Week 12 of the regular season, the NFL has developed an awareness campaign designed to promote the PLAY 60 platform and encourage youth and families across the nation to be active at least 60 minutes each day. League-wide PLAY 60 elements during the Week 12 games will include on-field PLAY 60 stencils, goal post wraps, gameday program ads and banners.
