Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton appears to be in the running for a head coaching job.

ESPN and are reporting Hamilton is in the running for the Vanderbilt head coaching job.

Hamilton just finished his first year with the Colts.  Before that, we was on Stanford's staff where he worked closely with Colts QB Andrew Luck.

Hamilton is not the only NFL assistant on Vanderbilt's radar, apparently. ESPN reports St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is interviewing Wednesday for the job.

Vanderbilt is searching for a replacement for James Franklin who took over as head coach at Penn State.

Hamilton has coached for 15 years in the collegiate and NFL ranks.
