Colts drop final preseason game to Bengals, 27-10
The Indianapolis Colts lost their final preseason game, 27-10 to Cincinnati Thursday night.
Matt Hasselbeck started at quarterback for the Colts, who took a 3-0 lead after the opening drive of the game. Adam Vinatieri kicked a 43-yard field goal with 10:25 remaining in the first quarter.
The Bengals, playing with their first-team offense, responded with a 49-yard scoring drive capped by a one-yard scoring run by Giovani Bernard to take the lead. Mike Nugent added a 42-yard field goal to give Cincinnati a 10-3 lead after the opening quarter.
Josh Johnson threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Marvin Jones to continue the Bengals' scoring in the second quarter for a 17-3 lead they took to halftime.
Nugent pushed the lead to 20-3 in the third quarter with a 33-yard field goal. Rex Burkhead later scored on a two-yard run to further extend the Bengals lead.
Dominique Jones got the Colts back on the board with a seven-yard touchdown catch from Chandler Harnish to make the score 27-10 in the fourth quarter.
