A Cloverdale woman was injured in an eight-vehicle crash that closed I-70 in Putnam County Thursday afternoon.

State police investigators say a semi-trailer driven by Daniel Jovanovich of Peoria, Arizona failed to slow for slowing westbound traffic at a construction zone around 5:30 p.m. Jovanovich's truck struck a vehicle in the rear, starting a chain reaction that involved six more vehicles.

Linda Morgan, 62, of Cloverdale, was a passenger in a car struck in the crash. She was taken to Hendricks County Hospital for treatment of head, arm and leg injuries. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

There were no other injuries reported in the crash.

The westbound lanes of I-70 were closed for more than three hours. Jovanovich was cited for speed too fast to avoid a collision. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
