Two children are safe this morning after a massive search to find them and their father.  Police say the dad fled with his 3 year old and 9 month old children after a police chase ended in a crash on the southwest side just after 2 a.m.

Brownsburg Police say Ryan Ogden, 30, Indianapolis, led police on a chase that started in Brownsburg and ended near Ameriplex Parkway and Kentucky Avenue in Indianapolis.  Ogden fled the scene on foot, taking the two children who were in the car with him.

A police search found the three year old child about 4:30 a.m.  He was found in a field by himself.

A helicopter crew continued to look from the air for the infant, while other police searched by car and on foot near the southwest side location.

The infant and father were found about 4:30 a.m. in the 7800 block of Kentucky Avenue.

Brownsburg Police say the incident started about 2 a.m. Saturday when their K-9 officer attempted to pull a car over at Raceway Road and County Road 100 South.

When the driver refused to pull over, a pursuit began. The chase included police from Brownsburg, Hendricks County and IMPD.

The chase ended about 10 minutes later in the 6600 block of Kentucky Avenue on the southwest side.

That's where a Brownsburg police officer was injured when his car crashed into a house there.

No one in the house was hurt but the officer complained of chest and shoulder pain. He was taken to Hendricks Regional Hospital.

Ogden grabbed the children from the car and  fled on foot behind the house.

Officials say they are not sure why Ogden refused to pull over.

Police initially thought there was an adult female passenger in the car who also fled with Ogden.  But now they do not believe anyone else was with him during the incident.
