Indianapolis Metro Police are investigating a four-year-old boy shot on the Indianapolis north side. Police say another child shot the victim.

Police say the victim was at a relative's apartment, who was in the process of moving. They said the child's father, who works as a security guard had gotten home from work and thought he had secured his gun.

A child found the weapon, which accidentally discharged and struck the victim in the arm.

The boy is currently at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health and is expected to be okay.

The Department of Child Services is also investigating the incident.
