Chicago-bound plane makes emergency landing in Indianapolis
A plane bound for Chicago made an emergency landing in Indianapolis Thursday evening.
The regional jet, operating for United Airlines, reported smoke in the cockpit just before 7:30 p.m. The plane had left Columbus, Ohio and was headed for O'Hare Airport in Chicago.
The plane landed safely at Indianapolis International Airport around 7:40. The crew directed the plane's 48 passengers to exit the aircraft onto the runway immediately following the landing. The passengers were taken by bus to the terminal.
No injuries were reported.
