The Decatur County prosecutor's office confirmed late Wednesday it will drop criminal charges against the Connersville couple for nursing the injured fawn to health and keeping it. This follows a request last week by the Department of Natural Resources for the prosecutor to drop the case.

Jeff and Jennifer Counceller faced fines and potentially jail for illegally possessing the deer.
