Caucus Selects Councilor for City-County Council District 23
Republican Precinct Committeemen selected Jefferson Shreve to serve out the remainder of Jeff Cardwell's term as the City-County Councillor for District 23 at a Republican caucus held on Saturday.
Mr. Cardwell resigned from the seat earlier this month upon accepting an offer to serve in the cabinet of Governor Mike Pence as the Executive Director of the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.
Councillor Shreve took the oath of office immediately following the conclusion of the caucus.
Shreve is small business owner and resident of Perry Township. He is a graduate of both Purdue University and Indiana University, and is owner/president of Storage Express, an Indiana-headquartered self-storage business with facilities in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee.
"Councillor Shreve will be a tremendous addition to the City-County Council. His extensive history as a business owner and job-creator make him an ideal partner for Mayor Greg Ballard and our Republican Council Caucus as they continue efforts to promote economic development and create more jobs in Indianapolis", said Marion County Republican Chairman Kyle Walker.
