Carmel Schools say updated vaccination records needed for 1,000 students
HAMILTON COUNTY - More students in Hamilton County have gotten their vaccines after we reported thousands were in danger of missing a deadline, but school officials in Carmel still say they need to get updated shot records for a lot of kids.
Eyewitness News reported Monday that thousands of Hamilton County students would not be allowed back in school if they missed a September 12th deadline for immunizations.
Carmel schools have been sending email reminders to parents over the last couple of days. They say there were at least 1,500 students without the proper vaccines last week. That number is now under 1,000.
School administrators believe a lot of those students have had their shots, but they need to update their records with the schools.
Carmel Schools will be holding a clinic to allow students to get their shots on September 10th.
