Carmel pushes campaign to keep work-zone businesses afloat

If you drive down to Indianapolis from the north, chances are you've driven through the work zones in Carmel.

And, chances are you've chosen an alternate route out of frustration.



Businesses in that area are hurting because of this, and that's why the city of Carmel is pushing back wit a campaign to keep those business going.

Carmel is asking residents to not only wear the orange wristbands, but to patronize local businesses throughout the month of August.



"It's important to support local, employees, pay tax, participate in community events in the city," said Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard.

The city of Carmel is also encouraging people to take a selfie showing themselves eating or buying in those establishments.
