Carmel middle school in National Science Bowl final
A suburban Indianapolis middle school has earned a spot in the finals of the U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl.
The department says Carmel Creekside Middle School will face Takoma Park Middle School from Silver Spring, Md., in Monday's final.

The top eight middle school teams in the academic competition each receive $1,000 for their school's science department. The top three teams will receive trophies and individual medals.
Some 5,000 middle school students on more than 1,000 teams participated in 46 regional competitions leading up to the finals.
