A Carmel man faces charges after police say he drove into a retention pond with a 14-year-old passenger in the car.

Jeffrey Keck, 41, was arrested. Police say he drove his 2005 Land Rover into a retention pond near 126th Street and Scottish Bend.

A witness went into the water and helped Keck and the teenager to safety.

Keck was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and child endangerment. He's being held at the Hamilton County Jail.

The 14-year-old was not injured and was released to his mother.

The Fishers Dive team assisted in removing the vehicle from the pond.
