Carmel-Clay, Speedway approve school referendums

Indianapolis - Property tax caps and declining tax revenues are hitting school budgets hard, and many school districts in central Indiana turned to voters to approve special referendums to fund projects.

With all or most of the precincts reporting, Carmel-Clay (Yes 58%, No 42%) Washington Township (Yes 72%, No 28%), Speedway (Yes 86%, No 14%), Pike Township (Yes 69%, No 31%), and West Lafayette all voted in favor of their referendums.

Western Boone (Yes 31%, 69%), Eastern Hancock (Yes 32%, No, 68%), Decatur (Yes 43%, No 57%), and Rossville (Yes 40%, No 60%) all said no to their referendums.
