Three men were taken to Indianapolis hospitals early Monday morning after their car crashed into a tree on 36th Street east of Rural Street.

Two of the men were listed in critical condition after they were extricated from the front seat of the car.  The passenger was taken to IU Health-Methodist and the driver to Eskenazi.  A rear seat passenger was able to climb out himself and was taken to Eskenazi.

An IMPD officer saw the car traveling eastbound on 36th Street at a high rate of speed before the crash.

Police suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
