Car hits pedestrian talking on cell phone

Indianapolis - Police blame a cell phone for a Sunday night accident on the city's east side. It happened in the 4600 block of East 10th Street.

Officers say a woman was talking on her cell phone while she tried to cross the street. A driver couldn't stop in time and hit her.

The accident left a hole in the car's windshield. Police say the woman's cell phone was embedded in the car.

She was taken to the hospital with a skull fracture and a broken leg.
