Canterbury Hotel sold to Ohio firm
The historic Canterbury Hotel in downtown Indianapolis has been sold to an Ohio company.
Our partners at Inside Indiana Business report the hotel, which was built in 1928, has been sold to RockBridge, an integrated hotel investment firm based in Ohio. The hotel was purchased in 2010 by entrepreneur Turner Woodard and his family.
"The Canterbury is a special place in the City of Indianapolis and always has been," Woodard said in a release. "We are proud of the many improvements we've been able to make at the Canterbury over the last several years to reenergize the spirit and appreciation for the hotel."
The Canterbury has 99 rooms and is located at 123 S. Illinois Street downtown. It has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
