Candidates for governor react to storm damage

Indiana's major candidates for governor praised Hoosiers' quick response to tornado damage in the southern part of the state.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Rep. Mike Pence spent Friday in the northeast corner of Indiana around Fort Wayne. He praises the response from state emergency workers and the National Guard and says he plans to work with Gov. Mitch Daniels if he seeks federal emergency relief funds.

He says that's what Hoosiers do: "They just show up and roll their sleeves up and help their neighbors."

Democrat John Gregg saw tornado damage across southern Indiana as he made campaign stops while driving from Indianapolis to Evansville. He says he saw a semi trailer blown over in Vincennes, blocking access to U.S. 41 while electrical lines whipped like jump ropes in the wind.
