Butler fans excited to own a piece of Hinkle Fieldhouse; More seats for sale today
Want a piece of Hinkle Fieldhouse history? Butler University and People for Urban Progress (PUP) will be selling seats that were removed from the fieldhouse as part of the ongoing renovation. Seats are priced at $100 each.
Saturday, about 50 seats will be available to the general public from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CUE Farm at Butler, located next to the intramural fields west of 52nd Street and Boulevard Place. Buyers should be prepared to carry away their seats after completing the purchase.
On Friday, an exclusive pre-sale for season ticket holders lasted only about an hour because they sold out of more than 150 chairs. People began lining up 2 ½ hours before the sale began.
Proceeds will raise money for PUP to do public installations of seats around Indianapolis, and for Hinkle Fieldhouse renovations.
PUP, an Indianapolis non-profit that advances connectivity, environmental responsibility, and good design, repurposes discarded materials for public benefit.
The fieldhouse is currently undergoing a $34 million renovation, which is scheduled for completion in October.
