Brownsburg Police arrest three in Steak n Shake robbery
Police arrested three men after a restaurant robbery and chase early Wednesday morning. The three were under surveillance by a joint gang task force of the FBI and IMPD, and investigators believe the trio are connected with a dozen other robberies since November 2013.
Brownsburg Police were tipped by the task force shortly after Midnight that the three men may be in the area. Then police were called to the Steak n Shake on Maplehurst Drive shortly after 12:30 a.m. on the reported robbery.
According to Sgt. April Hyde of Brownsburg Police, two of the men entered the restaurant through a rear door, showed weapons, and took approximately $700 from the cash register as well as the wallet of an employee.
Sgt. Hyde said a customer alerted local police with a text message.
Brownsburg, IMPD and the FBI coordinated their pursuit, and located the car matching a witness description. The suspect car drove west on Interstate 74 to Pittsboro, then continued into a rural area of Hendricks County along 500 North, which is south of Pittsboro.
Where Hendricks County 50 West T's into 500 North, the car slid off the road and three men jumped out and were taken into custody - one by a police K-9 officer.
Nobody was injured in the restaurant.
Three suspects, Darian Dowell, 21, Armand Fuller, 20, and Fletcher Greer, 21 were arrested and have been preliminarily charged in Hendricks County with Robbery, Criminal Confinement, and Pointing a Firearm.
IMPD and SSTF investigators believe these suspects are responsible for 12 additional robberies in Marion County dating back to November 2013.
