Browns' Gordon apologizes to fans after suspension upheld
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been suspended for one year.
The NFL announced today they have upheld the original penalty for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Gordon had attempted to appeal, but to no avail.
Gordon is considered one of the top playmakers in the game but his problems off the field have trumped his success on it. He was also suspended two games last season for a drug violation.
In a statement issued through the NFL Players Association, Gordon said he was "disappointed that the NFL and its hearing office didn't exercise better discretion and judgment in my case." He went on to apologize to his teammates, coaches, the Cleveland Browns and the fans.
