A Massachusetts boy who only wanted cards for his upcoming birthday is getting that wish and more.

Danny Nickerson turns six on Friday. He told the Sun Chronicle newspaper in his hometown of Foxboro about his wish last week. By the weekend, his story went viral and cards and gifts began pouring into his family's post office box.

More than 23,000 people had liked a Facebook page Carley created called "Danny's Warriors," more than 10 times the number of likes the page had last week. By Monday, nearly 400 cards and about 15 packages with small gifts were delivered to Danny. Photos posted to Facebook Tuesday showed Danny and his family loading dozens of packages into a truck at the post office. Promises of more cards have been posted to various websites from as far away as Australia.

"We never thought it would be this big. It's very crazy," Carley said.

Danny was diagnosed in October with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), for which there is no cure.

If you want to send a card for Danny's birthday, it can be mailed to: Danny Nickerson, P.O. Box 212, Foxboro, MA 02035.
