Boy, two, dies after being found in Whitley County pond
Conservation officials say a two-year-old boy who died after being pulled from a northern Indiana pond had gone missing shortly before he was discovered in the pond.
The boy's relatives were performing CPR on the youngster when emergency responders arrived Saturday afternoon at the Whitley County pond. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The Journal Gazette reports relatives found the boy partially submerged in the pond near by the town of South Whitley less than 10 minutes after they realized he was missing.
The child did not live at the residence with the pond about 20 miles west of Fort Wayne. His death remains under investigation.
