Bosma: No ethics charges against Turner
Republican House Speaker Brian Bosma said he will not sanction House Speaker Pro Tem Eric Turner after an ethics probe determined the lawmaker did not technically violate state ethics rules.
Bosma said Tuesday he was accepting the committee's recommendation that no action be taken.
Turner fought a proposed ban on nursing home construction earlier this year that would have cost him millions in future profits. A House ethics investigation determined he did not technically violate any rules, but said ethics rules must be tightened.
Turner holds a sizable stake in nursing home developer Mainstreet Property Group, according to a company document. A company spokeswoman has disputed the accuracy of the company's document, but declined to say how much Turner owns.
