Bloomington helping with beer brewery's project
The city of Bloomington is helping a beer brewery with an expansion of its downtown restaurant and bar.
The city Redevelopment Commission is spending nearly $50,000 to install larger water lines to the Upland Brewing Co. location. Upland Brewing is in the midst of a $1.2 million project remodeling and kitchen expansion at its brew pub after moving most brewing operations to a larger Bloomington site a couple of years ago.
City development director Danise Alano-Martin tells The Herald-Times the water line upgrade could also help attract businesses to the city's technology park near the brew pub.
Upland Brewing president Doug Dayhoff says construction started in April and should be completed by mid-September. Upland expects it will be adding about 60 employees.
