Bisard appeals drunk driving conviction in 2010 crash
Eyewitness News has learned Officer David Bisard is appealing his conviction in the death of a motorcyclist.
A judge in Allen County sentenced the former IMPD patrolman to 13 years behind bars. Bisard was found guilty of driving drunk and hitting three motorcyclists in his patrol car in August 2010. Eric Wells was killed in the crash and the other two motorcyclists were seriously injured.
At his sentencing, Bisard admitted he was distracted by his police car computer, but was not driving drunk.
He is represented by a public defender in his appeal.
