Bedford North Lawrence wins Indiana girls 4A title

Alexa Bailey and Dominique McBryde each scored 19 points to lead Bedford North Lawrence to a 54-51 victory over Fort Wayne South Side to take the girls Class 4A state title Saturday night.

Ariana Simmons had 21 points and 11 rebounds and Brittni Clopton and Lakyn Gulley each had nine for the Archers (24-4), in the finals for the first time.

McBryde tied the game at 43 with a 3-point play with 6:00 left. Bailey followed with a steal, layup and free throw to give the Stars (28-0) the lead for good at 46-43.

With just over a minute to play, Sammy Dillman hit a 3-pointer to put the Stars up 51-48.
