Bedford man suffers serious injuries after 17 foot fall at Williams Dam
Indiana Conservation Officers say a Bedford man fell 17 feet from a platform adjacent to Williams Dam Saturday evening.
Jerry Lemmons, 47, was fishing in Lawrence County from the platform commonly known as the "catwalk" when he lost his balance and fell. He landed on concrete near the White River. Lemmons sustained multiple broken bones and head trauma as a result.
Indian Creek and Williams Volunteer Firefighters utilized ropes and a stokes basket to haul Lemmons to higher ground. He was then airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.
Other assisting agencies included the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department and Seals Ambulance Service.
The incident remains under investigation by conservation officers.
