It's a busy time of year with kids heading back to school.

If you're running to events after school, you may be tempted to grab a bite to eat at the drive-thru.

But our registered dietitian, Mary Snell, is here with healthier and less expensive options for after-school snacks.

Here are four fun snack ideas that are wholesome, easy to prepare, and delightful to devour:

- Frozen grapes on a stick.

- Mini pizza: toast a whole grain English muffin, drizzle with pizza sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

- Yogurt Sundae: fill a waffle cone with low-fat vanilla yogurt and top with cut-up fruit

- Quesadilla: sprinkle grated Monterey Jack cheese over a corn or flour tortilla; fold in half and microwave for about twenty seconds. Cut in

wedges and dip in salsa.
