INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Music, dance, food and cultural heritage - were all on full display at the Indiana State Museum today.. For Asian Fest.

This year's theme country was Japan.

But visitors got to experience all Asian cultures from China to India to the Philippines.

There are lots of interactive activities for families at Asian Fest.

And one of the dance performers Sunday also happens to be this year's 500 Festival Queen.

She talked to us about why this is such a special event.

"I think there's always something to learn so whether that be a new food or something about a country you've never been to or something about a dance performance,” said Shivani Bajbai. “If you're here, you're going to learn something about whatever it is that interests you - just meet new people."

This was the tenth year for Asian Fest, which is sponsored by the Asian American Alliance.
