Police have arrested one suspect and are seeking two others in a fatal shooting at a mobile home near Paoli Monday.

Elbert Brooks, 48, was arrested late Wednesday without incident at an apartment complex in Marengo. Police plan to charge him with murder in the shooting deaths of Nicholas Fields and Cory Michael Harris.

Police are actively searching for James L. Davidson, 36, of Marengo, and John Robert Carpenter in the case. Both men are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding the location of Davidson is asked to contact the Indiana State Police at 1-812-482-1441 or 911.

Each man faces two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of robbery. An affidavit says methamphetamine was stolen.

Fields, 59, of Paoli, died Monday, the 25-year-old Harris died late Tuesday after doctors harvested his organs for donation. A third man, 29-year-old Daniel Smitson, suffered a gunshot wound to the mouth and also was taken to University of Louisville Hospital.
Police continue to investigate the shootings and have asked anyone with information on the incident to call the State Police's Jasper post.

Orange County Sheriff Richard Dixon says a woman passing by the home called 911 after finding one of the men lying on the ground outside the home.
