Arrangements set for fallen IMPD Officer Perry Renn
The state of Indiana continues to remember three police officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Tipton Deputy Jacob Calvin was laid to rest yesterday.
Fallen IMPD Officer Perry Renn's funeral is Friday at Banker's Life Fieldhouse.
Many have already taken time to offer their condolences.
We've shown you Renn's cruiser parked outside North District---but this is an especially touching tribute posted on our Facebook page.
Jennifer Fedeler posted her 3-year-old daughter giving up her favorite teddy bear to the fallen officer.
It's a small gesture that encompasses the great loss this city feels right now.
No one knows that better than Sgt. Jo Moore whose son David Moore died in the line of duty in 2011, about a mile from where Renn was killed. She placed Renn's framed photo on the wall with other pictures of fallen IMPD officers.
"I'm sad that I'm having to do it again, but the realistic aspect of police work is that we will be doing it again, and again, and again," Jo Moore said. "I get to honor Officer Renn and his family by making sure he is given all the award and credit he deserves for giving his life for the city of Indianapolis."
Renn's visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Thursday Crown Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Banker's Life Field House.
Graveside services will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in the "Heroes of Public Safety" Section.
