Anderson Police make arrest in bank robbery
Anderson Police arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a bank robbery Monday, but they're still looking for the man's suspected accomplice.
Police arrested Gerald Lamont Reed on a charge of robbery (Class A felony - armed with serious bodily injury) for his alleged role in the robbery of the 1st Merchants Bank on Nichol Ave. Monday morning.
Police are looking for 18-year-old Edwin Le'Anthony Ricard in connection with the robbery. Ricard is believed to be armed and should be considered dangerous. If anyone knows of his whereabouts or sees him, they are asked to call the police.
Detectives were able to identify both Reed and Ricard as the two men who robbed the bank through a number of eyewitnesses. Most of the money stolen during the robbery was believed to have been recovered during the investigation along with the blue Ford Taurus that was used in the commission of that robbery.
Police are seeking Edwin Le'Anthony Ricard for the charge of Robbery, a Class A Felony (Armed with serious bodily injury). Ricard is a black male who stands 5'-11" tall and weighs 170lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. The case remains under investigation.
