Anderson Police are looking for a man who they say tried to run over a police officer.

Police say Dustin James Mullins, 28, of Anderson, was pulled over near Van Buskirk Road and Raible Ave. Wednesday night. Officer Warren Warren stopped him for driving what appeared to be a stolen 2002 Chevy Tahoe.

During the stop, Mullins backed the vehicle into a driveway and the officer parked his patrol car in front of the Tahoe. But when Officer Warren tried to take Mullins into custody, Mullins drove towards the officer and rammed the patrol car.

Mullins fled south on Raible Ave. where the vehicle was later discovered abandoned in the 2700 block of Arrow Ave.

Officers were subsequently able to make a positive identification of Mullins using video surveillance from the local convenience store where the Tahoe had been spotted earlier.

Mullins is also wanted on warrants for a class "A" felony Bond Revocation (Child Molesting).

Mullins is 6'2", 260 lbs., brown hair and brown yes.

If you spot him, call the Anderson Police Department at 648.6775 or Crime Stoppers at 649.8310. Mullins should not be approached as he is considered dangerous.
