Anderson man dies in crash near Sheridan

An Anderson man died early Tuesday morning on State Road 38 east of Sheridan. Shortly before 1:00am, Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash at Six Points Road. Dennis Eugene Scott, 45, of Anderson, was ejected from his truck and pronounced dead at the scene.

According to initial reports, Scott was driving westbound on State Road 38 when his Chevrolet Silverado truck crossed the centerline and left the roadway. The truck rolled several times before landing in an upright position.

It was not known if Scott was wearing a safety belt. Crash Team investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash and whether alcohol might have been a factor.

State Road 38 is open to traffic.
