Relay For Life unites thousands of communities nationwide so that one day our loved ones will no longer have to hear the words "you have cancer." Participants form teams for this inspiring, fun event, and each team keeps one person on the track throughout this overnight event, symbolizing that cancer never sleeps. Funds raised through Relay For Life help the American Cancer Society save lives from cancer. There are 33 Relays For Life in Central Indiana this year. Click here for details.

You can also help cancer research by enrolling in a groundbreaking study in Central Indiana, the Cancer Prevention Study-3. Enrollment is available at the Relay For Life of Noblesville on May 11 and the Relay For Life of Greenfield on June 14. If you are age 30 - 65, have never had cancer, and are willing to make a long-term commitment, the American Cancer Society wants YOU! The goal of CPS-3 is to help researchers identify the lifestyle, genetic, and environmental factors that cause or prevent cancer. Click here to learn more.

The American Cancer Society is the largest source of private, nonprofit cancer research funds in the United States. The ACS awards approximately $150 million in new research grants annually through its disciplined peer review process – a process so successful that nearly 50 ACS grantees have gone on to achieve science's highest honor, the Nobel Prize. In total, more than $3.5 billion has been invested in research since 1946. In Indiana, the ACS funds more than $4 million in cancer research at four institutions around the state: IUPUI, Purdue University, Indiana University – Bloomington, and the University of Notre Dame.
