An Indianapolis man was arrested for drunk driving after crashing his car with his children inside.

Police say Bruce Haron Oliver, 35, was driving north on I-65 at the 121 mile marker when he crashed into a concrete barrier wall. The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, during the height of the snowstorm.

Oliver told police he was taking his 12- and 13-year-old sons to his girlfriend's house. An Indiana State Police trooper at the scene detected a strong odor of alcohol on Oliver, along with slow and unsteady balance and slurred speech. Oliver subsequently failed field sobriety tests administered at the IMPD Northwest District and tested with a blood-alcohol content of .20 percent.

Oliver's sons were released to their mother, while Oliver was taken to the Marion County Arrestee Processing Center. He is facing a felony OWI charge, along with two felony counts each of Operating While Intoxicated Endangering a Juvenile and Neglect of a Dependent.
