All lanes are now open on eastbound I-465 near Madison Avenue following a semi crash around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

A semi carrying 45,000 pounds of butter and whipped cream crashed closing several lanes of traffic during the morning rush hour. Despite the slippery mess, it proved to be a humorous clean-up.

What should be bound for the breakfast table was instead spread across the interstate - buttery, slippery and stopping traffic.

The driver of the semi told police he might have fallen asleep, creating the culinary catastrophe during the morning rush.

"Unfortunately every time we grab something, butter and whipped cream bust open," said Ron Jones, Hix Towing.

With no injuries, it was hard not to have a little fun with the whipped cream.

"But then if I got hungry, thought of waffles - everything that's good for breakfast, butter, whipped cream, everything except for meat!" said Jones.

An INDOT truck brought in to pour sand over the slick spots ended up crashing down the road, leaving two accidents to clean up. Bags of sand were brought in instead.

What's left intact was tossed away, proving perhaps tht not everything's better with blue bonnet on it.

No one was injured in either crash.
