All lanes of I-69 SB at 82nd St. are open again after an overturned semi trailer closed down the highway for hours Wednesday.

The semi overturned between 82nd and 96th around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and blocked all of the southbound lanes. Minor injuries were reported and traffic was backed up for several miles.

Police say the truck's driver, George McClurg III of Pennsylvania made an abrupt move to the left to avoid slowed traffic and lost control, causing his semi to overturn on the driver's side. No other vehicles were involved.

96th Street was also backed up because of overflow traffic. Hamilton Southeastern School buses were delayed due to heavy traffic.

State police and INDOT workers were eventually able to turn the stuck traffic around and sending it northbound on the southbound lanes to the 96th Street exit.

McClurg was taken to St. Vincent Hospital on a complaint of pain. Police are still investigating to determine if traffic citations will be issued in the crash.

The highway was reopened around 6:30 p.m.
