Advocacy group targets House GOP on immigration

An advocacy group affiliated with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is launching an ad imploring House Republicans to act this year on immigration legislation.

The 60-second spot says doing nothing won't do and chides the House GOP. The spot, at a cost of $500,000, is slated to air in all 50 states for two weeks starting Monday.

The Senate passed a comprehensive bill last June that would provide a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million immigrations living in the country illegally, tighten border security and add new visa and workplace enforcement programs. The legislation has stalled in the House where rank-and-file Republicans are reluctant to tackle the divisive issue in an election year.

Council for American Job Growth, an affiliate of the group, is sponsoring the ad.
