Accident sends two people to the hospital

Two people are recovering after being involved in a car accident Saturday afternoon.

According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, the driver, Kyle Winegar, 38, was traveling north bound on Illinois Street near 30th Street. That's when he appeared to lose control and struck a tree.

The wife of the driver, Terri Moore-Winegar, 55, was a passenger in the car. She said her husband was coughing and she grabbed the wheel, just before the accident.

According to IFD, Kyle Winegar was able to walk away from the accident and didn't seem to be injured seriously. However, his wife Terri Moore-Winegar complained of chest and lower leg pain. Both were taken to Methodist Hospital.
