Metro police say a five-month-old boy reportedly abducted by his father has been located and is safe.

James Curry's mother told police around 5 p.m. she was involved in a domestic disturbance and that her child's non-custodial father, James Cole, had taken the boy. Detectives located Cole's vehicle, unoccupied, but could not find him or the child.

Curry was later found at a home in the 900 block of North Keystone Avenue, where Cole had dropped him off, then left. The boy will be reunited with his mother.

Cole has not yet been located by police. He is described as a black male, standing 5'9" tall, weighing 185 pounds.

Anyone who comes into contact with James Cole is urged to call 911. Anyone with information about his whereabouts can call Missing Persons at 317-327-6160 or contact Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477). Callers may also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274637 (CRIMES).
