TEMPS IN 70s TODAY WITH SHOWERS POSSIBLE LATER:
We have some fog this morning in many parts of the area, but temperatures are still cooler than they should be for this time of year. Overall it will be a pretty day, but it might be a good idea to carry an umbrella with you today. A stray shower or storm is possible in the afternoon, but we are only expecting a couple on the radar. Temperatures will climb into the lower 70s by noon and into the upper 70s for highs. IMPD EAST DISTRICT EVENT HELPS BUILD SENSE OF COMMUNITY:
IMPD East District is hosting the 8th Annual Community Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today in front of the Rec Center at Brookside Park. Police say the event helps them better protect the community and helps the community feel like they're getting better protection. The event includes food, games and interaction with law enforcement. SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING SHELBYVILLE WOMAN:
Investigators are expected to continue to search an area along Elm Street in Shelbyville today for clues into the disappearance of a Central Indiana woman. Rebecca Cassidy has been missing since 2010. The 33-year-old, single mom was last seen in the Elm Street area. Crews blocked off the street again Tuesday, and dug up several spots in one man's yard, looking for clues in the woman's disappearance. Read more about the case.
MAYOR SET TO MAKE MAJOR PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT TODAY:
Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard's office is expected to make a major public safety announcement today. Details on when we expect the announcement.
RICHMOND HILL SUSPECT IN COURT AGAIN TODAY:
Today is the third day for a hearing to decide the trial location for one of the suspects in the Richmond Hill explosion. Earlier this week, lawyers for Mark Leonard, Marion County Prosecutors and a judge screened members of a "test jury" to see if they can find enough impartial jurors to hold the trial in Marion County.
